Assignment DescriptionFor this assignment, we were instructed to use photoshop to crop, recolor, copy, and paste an image of ourselves four times for a pop art effect. The first thing I did was make the most square crop of the image that I could get. Secondly, I adjusted the image filter settings, making the threshold to my desired black and white effect. After, I opened a blank canvas and centered the rulers so I had a four framed canvas. I then pasted in my original image four times and adjusted the hue and saturations to have four different colors. what i learned...I learned how to edit the rulers to make a collage of images instead of just having one composition. I also learned about all the different image settings such as adjustments (threshold etc...) I really enjoyed making this piece because It sticks out and grabs the eye.

For this first assignment, I chose to do images in black and white. This picture is of mine and my boyfriend's hand against black fabric. The first thing I did was bring down the exposure of the image in photoshop. Next, I changed it from an image of color to black and white. I adjusted the contrast and cropped it to be more square. Overall, I think it turned out fairly well and I enjoyed shooting for this assignment.
For my first shooting assignment I have chosen to focus on black and white images. I want to be better at using different apertures to extend the depth of field and allow the images to have deep contrasts. Here are a few photos I picked for my inspiration: I think these are amazing examples of some breathtaking black and white photos. You can clearly see the contrasts between really black and very light white. I hope to produce images with similar contrast and eye-catching depth.
